Transformative Yoga Therapy™ Frequently Asked Questions

Who would benefit from Transformative Yoga Therapy™?

This process is for anyone who wants to feel better inside their body, attain emotional freedom, and experience an integrated, balanced life. Clients range in age from 8-76. We are never too old or too young to affect positive change for ourselves.

Do I have to do yoga or be flexible to do this?

Absolutely not. Some clients are in great physical condition and some are in failing health. This holistic approach to healing meets you where you are today.

I’m not interested in psychotherapy…is that what this is?

Transformative Yoga Therapy™ looks at how old issues may have caused blocks or discomfort in our energetic and physical system and then focuses on gently releasing these blocks. Through acceptance and release we reclaim our abundant life force, create meaning for our lives and consciously express our fullest, most authentic selves.

How long does this process take?

For some people, one session brings renewal, for others it is a joyful, ongoing process.

What can I expect from a Transformative Yoga Therapy™ Session?

The body is a storage depot for all the things we have experienced and felt over the course of our lives. Our biography becomes our biology. From small discomforts to chronic pain, the body calls us to awakening, to look inward to unresolved issues and emotional scar tissue from the past which keeps us from full capacity living in the present. In a Transformative Yoga Therapy session, we enter body memory through intentional breathing exercises and simple yoga movement to invite response and release on the physical level. When the body’s natural wisdom is accessed, emotional release often occurs and healing begins at a deeper level than the rational, linear mind can reach. Challenges, both physical and mental, become opportunities to recover lost or alienated parts of our self and reclaim our vibrancy and health.

“To be 'healed' is to enter a state of being in which we feel peaceful, safe, joyful, unconditionally valuable and accepting of all that is in our hearts and in our lives.” ~ JL
